Static Container
What is a Static Container?
A Static Container holds UI elements at fixed positions and fixed sizes — regardless of how the container or screen resizes.
There is no automatic scaling or repositioning. It behaves like a pixel-perfect layout, ideal for precise control surfaces or legacy interfaces.
Key Characteristics
- Elements have absolute position and fixed size
- No automatic adjustment based on container size
- Simple, predictable, and rigid layout
- What you design is exactly what you get
When should you use it?
Use a Static Container when:
- You need exact positioning (e.g. for alignment with a background graphic)
- The layout is not meant to scale or adapt
- You are working on migrating or replicating old HMIs
- Precision and consistency are more important than responsiveness
Practical Example
You design a control surface for a machine that matches a printed panel:
- Button A is placed at
x = 80px, y = 30px, size100 x 50 - No matter the screen size, the button remains in this position and size
Screen: 1920x1080 → Button stays at 80,30 with size 100x50
Screen: 1280x800 → Still 80,30 with 100x50 (not scaled)
100 x 50
x = 80px, y = 30px
