General Settings – Global Project Configuration

Under Settings > General Settings, you’ll find central options that control the layout and behavior of the entire visualization – both in the Admin area and in the Frontend. These settings apply globally across the entire PLCVisu project.

Layout & Navigation

Setting Description
SideNav width in Px Width of the left sidebar (e.g. 300 px)
SideNav fixed Keeps the sidebar permanently visible
SideNav Button on Toolbar Shows the burger menu button in the top left
SideNav opened on init Automatically opens the sidebar on project load

Toolbar Settings

Setting Description
Toolbar fixed Fixes the top toolbar while scrolling
Login on Toolbar Displays a login button in the toolbar
Language switch on Toolbar Adds a language selector to the toolbar
Date on Toolbar Displays the current date in the toolbar
Themes on Toolbar Enables a light/dark theme switcher
Help on Toolbar Enables a help button in the toolbar
Search on Toolbar Adds a search field (for tags & pages) to the toolbar

UI Grid & Layout

Setting Description
Gutter size in Px Space between components
Grid step Snap-to-grid step size when placing elements in Pages

Project Name & Branding

Setting Description
Page Title Title shown in the browser tab
Text or Image on Toolbar Logo or text shown at the top left (SVG path or static text)
Setting Description
Breadcrumb Navigation in Admin Shows breadcrumb path in the Admin interface
Breadcrumb Navigation in Frontend Shows breadcrumbs in the user-facing frontend
Navigation Highlighting in Admin Highlights the currently active page in Admin
Navigation Highlighting in Frontend Highlights the current page in Frontend navigation

Alarms & Expert Features

Setting Description
Alarms in Toolbar Displays a visual alarm indicator in the toolbar
Expert Mode Enables advanced experimental features like PLC-runtime and additional UI components –

Expert Mode Activation:

To enable or disable Expert Mode in PLCVisu, use the following keyboard shortcut:

  • macOS: [code_block_0]
  • Windows: [code_block_1]

This will instantly toggle Expert Mode without navigating through the menu.
