Pages
Button: External Link
Description
The External Link Button allows users to open any external resource — such as a website, PDF, support platform, or online service — directly from the interface.
This makes it ideal for:
- Linking to external documentation or help pages
- Opening manuals, videos, or product pages
- Integrating third-party tools and services
Core Functionality
In the button’s Control Properties, you define the external URL under:
- Target: Enter the full URL (e.g. https://www.wago.com/de-en )
When the button is clicked, the specified link will be opened in a new browser tab.
Best Practices
- Always use full URLs starting with https://
- Optionally customize the button label or add an icon
- Test links to ensure compatibility with firewall policies
