Expert Mode – Unlock Advanced Features

The Expert Mode is an extended setting found in General Settings (Burger Menu > Settings > General). Once enabled, additional tools and development features become visible – especially in the area of data integration.

Core Functions :

  • Standardized communication between PLCs (e.g. CODESYS), UIs (PLCVisu), databases, and third-party tools
  • Asynchronous data transfer via MQTT, WebSocket, or REST
  • Secure, modular variable mapping – e.g. from OPC UA to frontend controls

Expert Mode only

Once Expert Mode is enabled, the Page Builder offers a new control: It allows:

  • Visualization of live data from variables (e.g. directly from the PLC)
  • Minimal configuration – just bind the tag and go
  • Filterable view with zoom, labels, data reduction, and more
  • Ideal for machine, process, or energy data visualization

How to Enable Expert Mode

  • Windows: Press Ctrl + Shift + D
  • macOS: Press Control + Shift + D

Once enabled, open the Settings panel and check:
