Behavior

  • Uses the first selected object as the starting point; its horizontal position does not change.
  • Calculates the total horizontal space available between the selected objects.
  • Evenly redistributes the remaining objects from left to right, following the order in which they were selected.
  • Preserves each object’s width (only the X-position changes).

Practical Tip

For predictable results:

  1. Click the object that should stay in place first (your anchor).
  2. Then select the other objects in the order you want them arranged.
  3. Click Distribute Horizontally.

Use Cases

  • Creating evenly spaced buttons in a toolbar.
  • Lining up cards, tiles, or icons across a row.
  • Cleaning up “almost aligned” layouts without manually nudging each object.
