Installing PLCVisu on the WP400
This guide walks you through the initial setup and installation of PLCVisu on a brand-new WP400 device. Follow the steps carefully to get started in just a few minutes.
1. Power Up and Initial Login
- Connect your WP400 device to power.
- Once it boots, a login window will appear.
Default credentials:
- Username:
admin - Password:
wago
2. Set Up Network Configuration
After logging in:
- Navigate to the top menu bar →
Configuration - In the side navigation panel, go to →
Networking / TCP/IP Configuration - Under IP Source, select
Static IPfrom the dropdown - Enter a static IP address of your choice (e.g.
192.168.234.233) - Save the settings
3. Connect via Ethernet
- Use an Ethernet cable to connect your PC to the WP400.
- Open a browser and enter your configured IP address using
https://
For example:https://192.168.234.233
You should now see the same login screen in your browser as on the device — this is the WAGO Web-Based Management (WBM) interface.
Login again using:
- Username:
admin - Password:
wago
4. Upload the PLCVisu ipk-archivefile
Once logged into WBM:
- In the top navigation, go to
Configuration - In the side navigation, select
Software Uploads - Upload the
PLCVisu .ipkinstallation file
→ Download PLCVisu ipk for WP400
Important:
Check the box labeled “Force Install” before uploading.
- Click Install
- Once the upload is complete, click the Reboot button in the top right corner
Your WP400 is now set up and running as a VP400.
If you need to run CoDeSys on the same device, follow the next step.
If not, you are finish.
5. Upload the CoDeSys ipk-archivfile
Once logged into WBM:
- In the top navigation, go to
Configuration - In the side navigation, select
Software Uploads - Upload the
wp400-cs3-... .ipkinstallation file
→ Download CoDeSys ipk for WP400
Important:
Check the box labeled “Force Install” before uploading.
- Click Install
- Once the upload is complete, click the Reboot button in the top right corner
6. Done!
Your VP400 is now set up and running with CoDeSys as a CP400
You can now access the full editor environment through your browser at the IP you assigned earlier.
